Book Review: The Subtle Art Of Not Givng A F*ck

Book Name: The Subtle art of not giving a f*ck
Author: Mark Manson
My Rating: 4/5

One of the difficult thing is writing a book review to self helping book. Because you did not have anything to speak about. There is no story, No incident nothing. These books are filled with only motivation.
This is a kind of book which causes you confusion in addition to motivation and all those stuff. He approached everything in a different way. Things which we followed for years, we may started to question those. after reading this book. for eg everyone say, see failure as a opportunity. But mark is approaching it in a different way. he say, just accept it. In order get out of missery, you should first accept the fact that you are in missery. Like this he followed counterintiative approach in all aspects.
Most of us know this is the first book of mark and it is a great hit. He became a best selling author from a famous blogger. Even an averse reader would have heard about this book or already read it. This book is that much popular. but how?
Mark just broke all the conventions of a self helping book. He done it in an entirely different or we can say on his own way. while all the self helping book spoke in favour of entitlement. he spoke against it. Mark followed a approach of "when the world say it is west, you say it is east". But most of the things are acceptable. unless or until he can't be this much famous.
Even in writing he just broke all those norms. He wrote an entire book as he was writing an another article to his blog. He just used colloquial language throughout the book which helps the reader get connect with it. some may found it harsh or unpleasent. But already the result is visible everyone seems to like that.
While again coming to the content of this book, he spoke about happiness, suffering, choices, lot of things and finally death. In all the topics he just followed the same approach. This book is a kind of harsh reality. We may hate it or we may found it riduculous. But at bottom we all knew whatever has been said, is true.
Most self helping books are usually based on some imaginative stories as an example. But mark used his own life experiences as an example. which helped him to create a better rapport with the reader. It feels like an heart to heart conversation with a friend.
At the same time not everything which was said is not acceptable. Rather than giving motivation it lead to us confusion. Living a life in positive approach is okay to some extent. But speaking completely against it, is not acceptable.
In this book, one of the mark friend commit sucide. Initially he doesn't know who is he. He referred it in writting as, " I can't able to connect with that two plus two". When he actually came to know, it was his friend.  He wrote in next line, now i could able to connect that two plus two. The way he wrote this incident was just amazing. Similar to this, at many points mark steals the show through his sharp lines.
Size of the book is not that much big. It is just a normal size book which you can complete within two or three sittings. But make sure, don't begin it with over expectation. You may get disappointed at the end. On the whole, i definitely recommend this book. If you are the lover of self helping books, you will definitely like it. Have a nice day!!

Five takeaways from the life of Gandhi

From the title itself, it is well clear that i am going to speak about nothing else than the written auto biography of Mahatma Gandhi. But we can't say it is a complete autobiography. As he and title says, it comprises of only the experiments of Gandhi with truth. Gandhi life is an ocean, no one can limit it within numbers. But I am trying to limit myself within five takeaway. He led a life as an example and he also set a standard which is unreachable. But everyone of us can live to a certain extent of it. if you ask me, why I have to live like Gandhi? maybe this five takeaways will answer your question. if not, sorry for wasting your five minutes of precious time. 1.No God is higher than Truth The first takeaway is  No God is higher than Truth.  Gandhi saw truth as a god throughout his life. Truth in the sense, it is not something which we saw in words. It is being true in all aspects of life, even through thoughts. Ultimately, we should be true to our self. Gandh...
