Entire world is affected by Corona. Most countries already imposed lock down. Everyone is going through tough times. But reading a book, will definitely help you to escape from all this chaos.
" A reader lives a thousand lives" this saying is definitely true. 
Moreover, book reading helps you to stay in home. When you really get interested in a book, you forget everything around you. It won't be boring anymore. It sounds like, i am giving over hype. But give it a try. 

Murder of Roger Ackroyd, from the title itself you can say this is a crime thriller. Intelligence of Agatha christie is visible through every page of the book. Unlike other crime thrillers story does not flow narrowly. Well, that is the beauty of Agatha christie.
I bet one thing. After knowing the real criminal you simply won't believe it. you definitely re-read that page again and again. It is a kind of pure mastery, exhibited by Agatha. Throughout the story, you can always find some clues. But that is possible when you read it second time.
The way in which Herculy poirot investigate crime makes you confuse first. But then when slowly things start to fall in place. You will feel like, Ahhh!!
In most of the crime thrillers author simply fooled the readers by shifting the crime from one person to another. When we think he should be the one, author reveal that he is not.
But Agatha christie is different from this, she doesn't make anyone as murder. It is like suspicion is on towards everyone. On one side, One by one evidence start to develope. On the other side, confusion also grow from our end. 
To Put things simply. You can't guess the murder. Even if you do, you will most probably wrong.

Base line of the story is this. There is some city called kings abbot. There lived Mr Ferrari and his wife. Ackroyd is also from the same town. Ackroyd is a widow who is living with his step son. Mrs Ferrari and Ackroyd starts to love each other. In order to live with Ackroyd Mrs Ferrari Poisoned her husband. 
But someone came to know about this and started to blackmail her. Amidst guilt and threat she commits Suicide. Before death, she wrote a letter to ackroyd, mentioning the name of the person who threaten her. Is ackroyd received that letter? Why he was murdered? Rest of the story gives answer to these questions.

This Story is definitely a worth to read. It is engaging from end to end. A kind of book that prompts the reader for re-read. Have a pleasant day.  
One thing, As this is a old book. Try to get it from second had book store. you can get it for less price.
